11/3/2022 0 Comments Steinberg retrologue free downloadI did find the Halion Sonic pleasing so far, but I only heard a couple of sounds from it, before running out of time to spend auditioning because I wanted to work on my new project for the next hour or so I had left. I can't see myself using anything from them, aside from maybe some back round noise/effect. #Steinberg retrologue free download proI quickly auditioned several instruments sounds from Cubase 8.5 Pro the night before last, after about an hour of doing this.especially from those Progue, Retrolue, Specter, Mystic synths I found toy-like/cheesy sounding, but I'll admit I'm not into a lot of synth type sounds. (like you?)īTW, part II: Sonar´s VSTi Dimension is terribly and boring, sorry.Īnd this affects many other plugins in Sonar also. Remember: I am none of these preset clickers. but there´s so much more potential in these! please do your own synth programming, then you will agree with me, quickly) (ok, a problem at that time with these 3 were rather mediocre to bad onboard presets. Some of my sounds sound like Absynth (!) and Massive e.g. Cubase has high-quality effects (new multiband stuff, Quadrafuzz II, Transient Shaper, Filters etc.) And there´s no problem with the great old vstis Prologue/Mystiq/Spector, I have programmed so many inimitable sounds for these three plugins. And Halion SE is a great sample rompler with modern sounds and extensive synthesis options. Groove Agent is more than a simple drummer, it´s a pure sounddesign monster (please see manual, YT vids). are one of the best onboard synths in the daw world. There are so many very good sounds in Cubase. (selection of his credits Mike Stavrou | Credits | AllMusic)Ī synthesizer vsti stands and falls with the onboard factory sounds. There are many pro audio engineers who work ONLY with Cubase onstock plugins (!), Paul McCartney and Mike Stavrou e.g. Problems with Cubase´s Compressors? please do a phase test!! and you will see that these compressors absolutely sound like Sonnox, e.g. I work as a prof sounddesigner, I also programmed sounds/samples for NI e.g.Īnd I have compared Cubase´s stuck plugins with third party stuff - in theses days Cubase (8) comes with absolute high quality sounds, samples, effects and synths, which is absolutely comparable with third party stuff or other daw´s like Logic e.g. So I keep returning to the less impressive but much more useful Retrologue. But just like my guitar noodling it never results in anything that I can use in my pop songs. An amazing synth that sounds awesome for that purpose. It's a beast that invites noodling like a great guitar. Every time I load up Monark I start jamming, soloing and coming up with cool funk riffs. To my ears, Monark is very different from Retrologue. However, I need to disagree regarding the likeness to Monark. And the resonator which enables narrowing the sound in a nice way so it fits in the mix where you want it frequency wise, and also adds interesting movement if you want. Easy-to-use arpeggiator with useful control lanes, better LFOs, an extra envelope, an extra osc, extra sync-ish modes, more FX. Ah, wellĪnd for you who like Retrologue 1: you'll really enjoy nr 2. But it seems the formant handling and pitch shift algorithms in Padshop prevent that. I was kinda hoping I could get a bit in the direction of the new Form synth in Komplete 11, not least using voices. Thanks a lot the 10€ Padshop Pro tip! It opens up some interesting possibilities that I now have tested a bit. When cubase 9 comes out i thik cubase need to revamp the guis on some of there old plugins some of them must be over 10 years old now and never had a change I use some of the stock fx plugins too but i do prefer using the uad2 plugins instead but thats down to preferance before i bought a uad2 card i used the stock fx all the time but i was never entirelly happy with the compressors and limiters i thought they made my tracks sound dull and lifeless. I use loads of steinberg vsts in my music i have most of them even old ones like hypersonic 2 i still use that.the only one i dont like is loopmash thats a good idea on paper but never gives you anything remotley usuable. #Steinberg retrologue free download full versionI love the bundled plugins with cubase 8.5 pro.you have revelation which in my opinion is one of the best convulted reverbs out there it sounds amazing.the you have magneto 2 thats great.padshop is also good but too get the best out of it you need to buy the pro upgrade which is about £8 so you can use your own samples.retrologue 2 is also brilliant for phat basslines.i dont use the bundled grooveagent 4 se i have the full version which i really like and use it alot same goes for halionsonic 2 i have the full vesion which is a massive leap up from the se version and contains a lot of great synths in it like trip and has a superb moog like synth in it too which i think steinberg should have released on its own.
